Getting stuck after starting something new? Get past that phase

When you start something new, whether your career or your new business, at one point in time, you feel you get stuck. You feel totally helpless and see no way to go. Or, rather you see a lot of ways that you could pursue but hopelessly you get indecisive.

Most of the time, from my observation, these situations occur due to the lack of one or the other know-how, hesitation to communicate, or even to send an email.

  • Trying to predict the future to take the right decision now
When you are trying to predict the future, you know you are doing a common mistake – Overthinking! This is an easy trap to fall into. You don’t need to be right every time, you just need to stay focused and on track.
  • Getting lost in the calculations of estimating the loss or profit
This is again the extension of the same point. Doing this is the right path but plain digging in will only give you more mud and make the hole deeper. Estimate to the point where you feel okay to be with and take the action. This brings us to the next point.
  • Lack of action or unmotivated after some time
Most of the time, this happens in career choices. The situation when you made your decision won’t remain the same. After that change, one may start losing interest and the amount of effort one would normally put in eventually decreases. Focusing on achievement helps.
  • The omnipresent budgetary issues or the financial cobweb
You researched a product, launched it into the market and after the acquisition of a few customers, you don’t have the marketing budget anymore. You start seeing that the visitors are leaking and you don’t have the budget to acquire visitors. In this case, if you believe that you got a winner with you, don’t hesitate to make some extra investments.
  • Changes in the business environments
If I don’t mention this point, any management student will feel this piece is a random thought fed to the internet. The internal environment and external environment of a business or an individual are always changing. Tracking them and performing a SWOT analysis to make changes in the action plan always helps to stay emotionally and financially healthy.

Think of this in that situation, it is your friend and you want to provide a genuine suggestion. Then start typing the suggestion like an action plan and implement that. It might help.
